Heavy traffic in east London disrupted both sides, with players turning up late at the ground and the Gills' being forced to play in Orient's away strip after their kit failed to arrive.[LNB]But the hosts coped the better with Smith, Ryan Jarvis and Sean Thornton on target in a 3-1 win.[LNB]"Both teams were struggling to get to the ground so the preparations weren't as smooth as normal," said the former Chelsea youngster.[LNB]"I only live 10 minutes away and it took me an hour to get in, but the manager told us to forget about that and prepare well. We did that and it showed on the pitch. I don't think they can use their players getting here late as an excuse as it was the same for us."[LNB]Smith, who grabbed his second goal of the campaign, added: "I've been disappointed I haven't scored more this season so hopefully this one can spark off a good run."[LNB][LNB]
