Orient second best

A header in each half from Romain Vincelot gave Dagenham & Redbridge their first win of the season at the expense of neighbours Leyton Orient. The visitors sold out their away allocation at Victoria Road, but it took just eight minutes for the French midfielder to silence them as he ran from deep to nod in a Danny Green cross from six yards out. Daggers were thankful to Abu Ogogo for making a goal-saving challenge to deny Stephen Dawson in the 34th minute, but Orient should have equalised when Matthew Spring's corner fell to an unmarked Alex Revell, but he headed straight at goalkeeper Tony Roberts. Dagenham scored a deserved second five minutes after the restart and Green was again the provider as his corner was sent back across goal by Mark Arber to a grateful Vincelot, who headed past Jamie Jones. Apart from a near-post header from Revell, Orient looked out of ideas for most of the afternoon and Josh Scott almost added another for the home side with a 20-yard shot which rocked the crossbar 15 minutes from time.
