Noone strike earns share of spoils

Orient's first-half superiority was rewarded when left-back Charlie Daniels shot them ahead with the aid of a huge deflection with a set piece 30 yards from goal after 27 minutes. Orient's earlier threats had come from headers from midfielder Jimmy Smith, twice, and striker Scott McGleish. Exeter midfielder Ryan Harley shot wide and home keeper Glenn Morris had to dive at the feet of striker Marcus Stewart as half-time approached. Orient lost Stephen Purches and Adam Chambers to injury at half-time. Harley went close as City had more of the play although a header from Orient striker Adrian Patulea was not far away. Exeter's equaliser came in freak fashion when Noone despatched a spectacular effort when unmarked 45 yards out on the left to deceive Morris as the ball found its way into the top corner after 77 minutes.
