McCallum in Orient fitness fight

Leyton Orient's new signing Paul McCallum is battling to overcome injury and illness in time to make his debut in the home game against Barnet.

Striker McCallum, who arrived from West Ham in July, is rated very doubtful due to an ankle injury and tonsillitis, but otherwise boss Ian Hendon has a fully-fit squad to choose from.

Goalkeeper Alex Cisak will start after turning his loan move from Burnley into a permanent deal, while Hendon has drafted in eight other new signings since the end of last season, with 15 players departing Brisbane Road.

Centre-half Alan Dunne, left-back Fraser Shaw, midfielder Sammy Moore and forward Blair Turgott are among those hoping to make their O's debuts.

Martin Allen has a near fully-fit squad to choose from as he prepares Barnet for their first game back in the Football League.

Experienced striker Kevin Lisbie is expected to miss out on the chance to make his debut against the club he left in the summer, but fellow striker Shaun Batt, another summer signing from recently-relegated Orient, is available.

Another new signing, Michael Nelson, whose arrival on a free transfer was confirmed on Monday, is also expected to start.
