Demetriou calls for consistency

The Brisbane Road club finished the season strongly following a poor start, in contrast to the previous campaign when they started well before fading away. Their inconsistent showings ultimately cost Martin Ling his job as manager and midfielder Demetriou has backed his replacement, Geraint Williams, to steer the club into the Championship. He said: "Last season we started flying, top of the league, and this year we started down there and finished well. If we can keep that form throughout the season we can compete very well. "Fair play to the new manager. I can't say a lot of fault was on the old manager because it wasn't. A lot of the boys, including myself, were not performing and the manager can only pick the boys he thinks are the strongest and if they don't perform, there's not much more he can do. "It's been an up and down season but we finished well and got our act together so we're looking to push on and get up there next season."
