Cox seals win for Orient

Leyton Orient kicked off their Joma South West Challenge Cup campaign with a 2-1 win over Eastleigh. The Os did not have it all their own way and fell behind inside the opening minute via Richard Graham's low drilled effort. But Russell Slade's men levelled soon after when Jimmy Smith latched onto a pass from Ryan Jarvis before firing a shot into the bottom left-hand corner. Dean Cox popped up seven minutes from time to settle what had been a largely even contest. The summer signing from Brighton slid a shot beyond Gavin Barfoot and in off the far post despite appeals for offside from the non-league side.
