Chesterfield have extended the stay of Michael Standing at Saltergate by a further month.
The former Aston Villa and Bradford City midfielder has been out of contract since leaving former club Walsall at the end of last season.
Spireites boss Roy McFarland offered the 25-year-old a trial spell at Saltergate followed by a short-term deal.
Standing has made just one appearance for the League One strugglers against Oldham Athletic in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
