MK Dons manager Martin Allen has admitted he was relieved to see Scott Taylor finally break his long goal drought when he netted in the 1-1 draw with Mansfield Town.
The 30-year-old former Blackpool star had not scored since early September but finally netted his first goal in 29 matches when he slotted home Jon-Paul McGovern's cross just after half-time against the Stags.
"It's been a long time coming," Allen told the club's official website.
"Scotty hasn't had that many opportunities because we have the top scorer (Izale McLeod) in the division at this club, but he's been a terrific professional behind the scenes.
"He never misses a day of training, he helps me, he helps the other players, he's a great person to have around the training ground.
"He's always there doing the extra optional sessions that are there for the players if they want to do them, he's right at the top of the league table for doing extra work.
"When that goal went in against Mansfield I thought it would have been the winner and I'd have been delighted for him as nobody deserves it more."
