Starbuck's Redmond red-card rage

Thursday Sep 29 2005 15:50

Leigh RMI boss Phil Starbuck was again left holding his head in disbelief as the Railwaymen lost 2-0 at Aldershot.

The visitors had Steve Redmond sent off on the stroke of half-time for two bookable offences, with Starbuck incredulous at another bizarre decision.

He told the Bolton Evening News: "The referee said he booked Redmond for pointing at the linesman, he called it dissent by action.

"I have never known anything like it. I just had to laugh because otherwise I would have screamed at the way our season has gone.

"I can not fault the lads, they were magnificent. They played really well but we could not score.

"We will not be downhearted, however, as we have to keep going."
