Leicester City owner Milan Mandaric has revealed caretaker manager Nigel Worthington will be considered for the vacant hot-seat the Walkers Stadium.
The new Foxes supremo turned to the former Norwich City manager after sacking Rob Kelly earlier in the month.
Worthington is close to completing Mandaric's request of keeping the club in the Championship and the Leicester owner will consider making the appointment into a permanent one at the end of the season.
"He (Worthington) has made a difference and he will be considered," he told the Leicester Mercury.
"We are not definitely safe yet, but he has almost done what I asked him to do.
"Hopefully, over the next two games, we will be secure in the Championship.
"The response he has had from the players has been very good in a short space of time and if we keep doing well to the end then he would have a good chance of the job."
Meanwhile, the Foxes are in negotiations with Andy Johnson over terminating the veteran midfielder's contract.
On-loan winger Mark Yeates has also returned to Spurs after being deemed surplus to requirements.
