Welsh set for Foxes return
16 Oct 2006 - 12:13:17
Leicester City are on the verge of signing Sunderland winger Andy Welsh on loan until the end of the year.
The 22-year-old spent the last two months of the 2005-06 campaign on loan with the Foxes and is now set to return to the Walkers Stadium.
City boss Rob Kelly told the club's official website: "I'm delighted Andy is joining us. He'll give us options in the forward positions."
Welsh made 85 appearances for Stockport County before moving to the Stadium of Light in November 2004.
He has started 17 first-team games for the Black Cats and made eight more appearances from the bench, but has failed to impress new manager Roy Keane and has not played for the club since May.
He made ten appearances for the Foxes during his loan spell with the club.
