Sven-Goran Eriksson doesn't expect to sign David Beckham, but insists the Leicester City door remains open for his former England captain.
Beckham is back to full fitness and playing for Los Angeles Galaxy following a ruptured Achilles tendon injury which ruined his dream of playing in the World Cup.
Eriksson is now in charge of the Foxes and although he doesn't believe Beckham would want to join the Championship side on loan at the end of the Major League Soccer season, he is refusing to rule out the possibility.
"I haven't spoken to David for a long time," Eriksson told The Guardian.
"But I doubt that he is going to go on loan because last year there was a lot of criticism from fans and things like that.
"I guess the fans don't want him to go, but if David wants to come here, the door is always open.
"I should be extremely surprised if he wants to come to the Championship.
"I could phone his agent, but I know the answer. I think David could go to any club he wants."
