Sylla joined St Johnstone in 2000, he played 39 games and scored 5 goals and was paid 650,000 pounds to secure his stay in 2001 by Martin O'Neill. After four years at St Johnstone Momo had played 79 appearances scoring 7 goals. He has also represented Guinea at the 2006 African Cup.
