Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson was content with his move into the loan market ahead of transfer deadline day, having brought in left-back Ryan McGivern from Manchester City.
The 19-year-old was an unused sub for the 1-0 loss at Newcastle United, with Pearson expecting good things from the teenager.
He told The Mercury: "He is a player we have been looking at for a while. It is great that he has become available.
"I am grateful to Manchester City for allowing him to come to us on loan and he will add strength and depth to the left-back position.
"I think our average age there is 35 or 36 before he comes in, so he lowers it somewhat."
