Pearson hails Foxes spirit

Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson praised the fighting qualities of his side after they secured a 1-0 victory at struggling Reading.

Martyn Waghorn's header just before half-time decided the Madejski Stadium encounter and moved the Foxes up to fifth place in the Championship table.

Pearson told The Mercury: "Our goal at times led a charmed life and we're probably fortunate, but it's still a fantastic win and a great result.

"We weren't at our best in a lot of ways, but we were prepared to stick in there. When you aren't playing well, you have to dig in and I thought we did that.

"We showed good aspects to our game when we needed to and got good challenges and blocks in, as well as defending well from their set-plays."
