Pearson enjoys return to top
01 Oct 2008 - 12:40:29
Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson admitted he was satisfied to see his side return to the top of the table following a 1-0 win over Colchester United on Tuesday evening.
Lloyd Dyer's fourth goal of the season saw the Foxes leapfrog Oldham Athletic and Scunthorpe United and resume leadership of League One.
"It is very satisfying to be back at the top of the league looking down on everyone else," Pearson told the club's official website.
"I thought we played pretty well on the night and turned in a thoroughly professional performance.
"Yes, we'd like to have scored more goals and made the result more comfortable but, on days or nights where you can't do that, then you've just got to see the job through until the very end.
"I am delighted with another clean sheet and another victory, which has helped put us top."
