Pearson backs Foxes squad

Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson has refused to be too downbeat after seeing his side beaten twice in the last week.

A 5-1 thrashing at Nottingham Forest last weekend was followed by a 3-1 midweek reverse at home to Bristol City, but Pearson is calm about the reverses, with his side still up in seventh place in the Championship table.

He told the club's official website: "Just because we've have a difficult few days, I'm certainly not going to be downbeat or looking at what has gone wrong, because I still believe these players are very competitive in this league.

"I still think we're having a very good season. We have to reflect on these incidents honestly, but then you've got to move on, because there is no time to feel sorry for yourself. It's about getting back to what we're good at.

"I think it would be wrong for me to make to bigger deal out of it. You can't turn back the clock, it's as simple as that.

"We've been beaten twice in the last week and it's possibly a new feeling for some players. It's something we're not going to dwell upon - we want to get back to winning ways."
