Howard happy at Leicester
Leicester striker Steve Howard is in talks to extend his contract. The 34-year-old looked to be on his way out of the club after Huddersfield made an approach for him.Uncertainty over his future continued following the departure of former manager Nigel Pearson, who had offered Howard a new deal following his impressive performances towards the end of last season. However, Howard has become an integral part of new City boss Paulo Sousa's plans and the contract offer has remained on the table.Howard, whose last-minute penalty gave Leicester a Carling Cup victory at Leeds on Tuesday night, told the Leicester Mercury: "I am very happy here and I am in the process of re-negotiating my contract. It should be sorted out in a week or two."Moving to Huddersfield was an option for me and there was talk of it but Paulo (Sousa) said he wants me here and now I will carry on and do my best for him."
