Ian Holloway has been confirmed as the third manager of Leicester City this season after agreeing to take the reins at the Walkers Stadium.
The colourful 44-year-old had been expected to join the Foxes after tendering his resignation at former club Plymouth Argyle earlier in the week.
Holloway has signed a three-and-a-half year deal and will succeed Gary Megson, who left to take over at Bolton Wanderers in October.
Megson's own tenure at the Championship club had lasted just 41 days after he was drafted in to replace Martin Allen.
Former Brentford manager Allen left the Walkers Stadium just weeks into the new season following a reported series of run-ins with owner Milan Mandaric.
Holloway took charge at Plymouth in the summer of 2006, having previously had spells in charge of Queens Park Rangers and Bristol Rovers.
"I just felt that I couldn't turn this down. I can't wait to get started," he told the club's official website.
"I am going to be so enthusiastic because I love everyday of my life. This is a whole new challenge which throws me into a whole new ballpark.
"I feel like I have been acting in Coronation Street all my life and now I have been asked to do a different role."
The Foxes have also confirmed that caretaker manager Frank Burrows has left the club by mutual consent, but coach Gerry Taggart and goalkeeping coach Mike Stowell will continue in their existing roles.
