Ian Holloway has opened talks with Leicester City over the vacant managerial hot-seat at the Walkers Stadium.
Holloway tendered his resignation at Plymouth Argyle on Wednesday and has travelled to the Midlands for discussions with Foxes chairman Milan Mandaric about replacing Gary Megson.
Megson quit the Championship strugglers to join Bolton Wanders in October after a brief tenure.
Holloway, who has yet to hear whether his resignation has been accepted by the Pilgrims, would become Leicester's third manager of the season.
Mandaric decided to part company with former boss Martin Allen just weeks into the season before turning to Megson.
"He (Holloway) has arrived and is holding talks," confirmed a Leicester spokesman.
Holloway took charge at Plymouth in the summer of 2006, having previously had spells in charge of Queens Park Rangers and Bristol Rovers.
