Funds available to Pearson

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has confirmed that he will have funds available to spend in the summer following the club's promotion back to the Championship.

Pearson held talks with owner Milan Mandaric following last weekend's promotion-clinching victory at Southend United and money for transfers will be made available.

However, the Foxes boss is keen to stress that his squad needs supplementing rather than major surgery.

"I know that we'll have some backing, but we'll also be working very hard making sure that we get the right players in and that they're either a good investment or we get good value for money out of them," he revealed.

"I think that's important because the players here have done a great job and they're a credit to themselves. It's about strengthening what we've got."
