Leicester City chairman Milan Mandaric hopes to make former Middlesbrough striker Joseph-Desire Job the club's eighth signing of the summer.
The Cameroon international, who is currently playing for French club Sedan, will not be the last arrival at the Walkers Stadium according to Mandaric, who expects to make up to five more signings before the start of the season.
He said of the Job deal: "We are working on this. We have made an offer to him and we hope we can sort it out in the next two or three days.
"He is just the sort of striker we have been looking for. He is strong physically, and he knows English football well from his time at Middlesbrough.
"He has experience of football in the Premiership which is where we are trying to lift this club back up to."
