Foxes snap up Kennedy

Leicester City have won the race to sign Rochdale left-back Tom Kennedy, agreeing a three-year contract with the highly-rated defender.

The 24-year-old was also a target for Doncaster Rovers, but opted for a switch to the Walkers Stadium.

He told his new club's official website: "I'd met with a few clubs, but three of four weeks ago I spoke to (head of recruitment) Steve Walsh and then told my agent this is where I wanted to play.

"It was a pretty straightforward decision in the end - the other clubs were good clubs but when Leicester City come calling you don't turn them down."

Kennedy joined Dale in the summer of 2007 from Bury and made just over 150 appearances for the Spotland club, helping them win promotion to League One last season.
