Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson has made Bruno Berner his tenth signing since being appointed manager at the Walkers Stadium.
The 30-year-old former Switzerland international was a free agent after leaving Blackburn Rovers at the end of last season.
Pearson said of Berne, who has penned a three-year contract with the Foxes: "Bruno showed a real desire to join us.
"He's a player with a wealth of experience and I'm sure he'll be a great addition to our squad."
Chairman Milan Mandaric added: "Bruno had options to play at a higher level, but he can see what's happening here. He's a player of great calibre and it's fantastic to have him on board."
