Leicester City are considering a bid for defender Alan Maybury from Championship rivals Sunderland.
The 28-year-old was left out of the Foxes team for Saturday's 3-1 win against Ipswich Town and manager Rob Kelly subsequently revealed he may have played his last game for the club.
"I have been informed by our chief executive Tim Davies that we have received an approach for Alan from Sunderland," said Kelly.
"Tim is currently speaking to Sunderland on the matter. In the meantime, Alan continues to be a Leicester City player."
Maybury, a Republic of Ireland international, joined Leicester from Hearts in January 2005 and has since made 59 Championship appearances for the club.
