Foxes: Pearson staying put

Leicester City chairman Milan Mandaric has warned any club interested that the Foxes are determined to hang on to manager Nigel Pearson.

Pearson guided City straight back up to the Championship at the first attempt, having been axed by Southampton after saving them from relegation last season.

Mandaric told the Leicester Mercury: "We are proud to have Nigel as our manager and I am confident he will stay with us.

"His job has not gone unnoticed and I would hate to think of that, but I cannot avoid the question.

"We don't want it to happen. Whether we will be approached or not is hard to say, although I would not be surprised.

"Nigel is a proper guy - he looks you in the eye, shakes you by the hand and you can trust in that."
