Watford defender James Chambers is on the verge of returning to full training after being sidelined since before Christmas with an ankle injury.
The 26-year-old former West Brom star has been restricted to six Premiership appearances for the Hornets this term, although he did also play seven games for Cardiff City during a loan spell with the Championship side.
Chambers has been frustrated by his lay-off but hopes to return to first-team action shortly.
He told the club's official website: "I was injured in the Newcastle away game and since then I've had a few problems with my ankle.
"I had to have it stitched and then I had an operation where I had a skin graft on my ankle which has caused me to be out a bit longer than I initially thought.
"But I'm on the road to recovery at the moment and hopefully I'm not far away from full training and playing.
"As we speak I'm doing a lot of work with the physio's - including minute muscle movements.
"I've also been working with the fitness coaches to get me back into full-time training."
