Leicester City have snapped up former Birmingham City defender Bruno N'Gotty and Aab Aalborg goalkeeper Jimmy Nielsen.

The pair, who have both penned two-year contracts with the Foxes, are the first signings made by new City manager Martin Allen.

Thirty-five-year-old former France international stopper N'Gotty has been in England for six years, starting with Bolton Wanderers before he moved to St Andrew's a year ago.

Nielsen, 29, once had a short stint with Millwall, but failed to make a first-team appearance for the Lions.

Allen told the club's official website: "Both players have a wealth of experience and I believe they will be major assets for the season ahead."

Meanwhile, defender Alan Maybury, midfielder Stephen Hughes and striker Elvis Hammond have all been placed on the transfer list by the Foxes.
