The former Aston Villa and Manchester City striker, who was on the bench against Cardiff on Tuesday night due to a tight hamstring, has been ill this week.
Fellow forward Steve Howard is manager Sven-Goran Eriksson`s only other injury problem. Howard has missed the last three matches with an ankle knock and will remain on the sidelines.
Eriksson has options should he wish to make changes with defenders Bruno Berner and Miguel Vitor, midfielders Matt Oakley and Yuki Abe and striker Martyn Waghorn available for recalls.
Leicester have yet to lose a league game at the Walkers Stadium since Eriksson took charge in October.
