Taggart hails Foxes' character

DJ Campbell had his first taste of pre-season action, starting up front with young prospect Billy Kee, but it was replacements Adi Yussef and Ricky Sappleton that did the damage, with Sappleton's second sealing the win for the City XI in the final minute. Taggart told the club's website: "I wasn't pleased with the first half but in the last 15 minutes or so we were knocking the ball around like I wanted them to do all game. "I would have been quite happy with the performance if we had come off still 1-1 down because by the end I had seen them produce what I wanted from them in what is, at this stage, a training exercise. "You have got to remember there were a lot of young lads out there who had never played against men before and it is difficult for them, but they are learning and they showed the character and battling qualities."
