Sousa to receive financial backing

Leicester manager Paulo Sousa has received assurances from the club's new owners that he will be able to strengthen his squad. The former QPR and Swansea boss will this week meet with the Asia Football Investments consortium - led by Thai business man Aiyawatt Raksriaksorn - to discuss a transfer budget. However, Sousa added that he has already been guaranteed full support from the owners as he looks to add to the five signings he has already secured this summer. "Of course, the main thing is they (the new owners) have passion for the game and, hopefully, they can support that passion to help us improve the club," Sousa told the Leicester Mercury. "From what they said to me, they are going to support me and the squad to add some numbers and some quality. "I don't know yet what kind of budget I will have, but they guaranteed they will give me support to make the right decisions to create a very strong squad."
