Sousa: 'New Signings This Week'

Having witnessed a poor performance away at Burnley, Paolo Sousa has guaranteed new signings will be introduced to the City squad this week. The Foxes were outclassed by Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday, as the 3-0 scoreline would suggest. And so, with the end of the transfer window approaching, Sousa has stressed that new players will be signing at the Walkers Stadium, sooner rather than later. 'I don't like to speak about the players I am looking to sign but we will have them in this week.' Sousa said. 'In the past two or three days I have been talking to agents to try to make things possible. If not, we move onto someone else.' He added. The City boss has recently been linked with a move for Crystal Palace midfielder Neil Danns - but Sousa was eager to stress that he would not reveal his transfer targets until they had signed. 'Danns was a player I was looking to sign last season so everyone tries to make the connection, but I am at a different club now.' Sousa explained. Whilst many transfer links carry little substance, one such deal looks a real possibility. Japan's World Cup star midfielder Yuki Abe is set for a move to Leicester after his agent declared that a deal was close to complete. Meanwhile, the 28-year-old's J-League club, Urawa Reds have reportedly agreed a fee for the player. However, as Paolo Sousa suggests, nothing is a done deal until the player signs a contract. The Foxes will be looking to improve on their poor early season form when they travel to Elland Road tonight for their Carling Cup Second Round clash against Leeds United.
