Leicester manager Sven-Goran Eriksson has secured the signing of former Portugal goalkeeper Ricardo on a short-term contract. The 34-year-old, who recently left Real Betis by mutual consent, will stay at the Walkers Stadium until the end of the season following a trial. Eriksson told the club`s official website: "I am delighted we've been able to secure Ricardo on a permanent contract. He has impressed during his time at the club and brings extra competition to our goalkeeping department. "Ricardo is an excellent shot-stopper with agility and he plays with great confidence. He has played at the highest level and will be a great addition to our squad." Ricardo will not be eligible for the Championship clash against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Tuesday night.
