Premier League 2014/15 club preview: Leicester

21 July 2014 15:59

The Foxes are back! Breaking all manner of club records including: Most points in a season (102), most league wins in a single season (31), most league home wins in a single season (17), the most consecutive league wins (9) and the most consecutive away league wins (5).

Nigel Pearson has spearheaded their Premiership return and boy do the look hungry for success.

David Nugent provided them with 20 goals but this writer is fearful that his PL history does not bode well with regards to top flight returns in front of goal.

Linked with:

Nick Powell, Leonardo Ulloa, Aaron Cresswell

So Who?

Well a good friend of mine who has been stumbling about after Leicester for a few decades now and watched pretty much all last season’s games, has reliably informed me that Ulloa would be a good shout (currently undergoing a medical as I write). Although he feels a left back may be in order as although Schlupp is quick enough to scamper back to cover any mistakes he has made, he probably should not have made them in the first place! My argument was that Nugent has been found out before at this level and that a decent forward should be focused on as Leicester seem to have a good nucleus of a team that has played together for a few seasons now and would benefit from a Premier League level striker. Is that Ulloa?
