North End, who knocked Pearson's side out of the cup last month, will arrive on Saturday on the back of a 5-1 home defeat to Tottenham.
"I don't think it will have any bearing as they played very well and were unlucky," said Pearson. "They will probably feel they were unfortunate to be on the receiving end of five goals.
"They are a good side with a lot of experience at this level so it will be another tough game. They have had a good start and they are a difficult team to beat."
