Pearson delight at Foxes response

Steve Howard's first-half winner ensured that the Foxes would bounce back after watching their long unbeaten run ended by Tranmere on Wednesday. Pearson said: "We needed it because we needed a response after Wednesday night, which was disappointing. "I thought we created a number of opportunities and although they had quite a bit of possession, they didn't really create too much, so I'm pretty pleased." "What matters is we are three points better off now than we were before the game started. That's always encouraging because we've not had a lean spell but it has been a difficult run of fixtures. "It gets us three points closer to where we want to be. I don't know if it is any more significant than any other win. We will look back at the end of the season and know then but it is important based on the fact we lost midweek and had an immediate response which is good."
