Pearson concerned for fragile Foxes

Ivan Sproule put the visitors in front with a fine individual strike at the Walkers Stadium, Cole Skuse doubled the Robins' lead and Evander Sno slotted in a third before substitute Matty Fryatt grabbed a last-gasp consolation after Martyn Waghorn had seen red.[LNB]"It was very disappointing," Pearson said.[LNB]"It was so important that we scored the first goal, but we ended up conceding two goals in quick succession and the players' confidence seemed to be affected after that.[LNB]"Our confidence tonight seemed a bit fragile and we've just got to work through that.[LNB]"I thought the players were in a positive frame of mind after the defeat at Forest, but key events didn't go well for us tonight."[LNB]Pearson was looking for a positive response after his side's 5-1 Championship drubbing at East Midlands rivals Nottingham Forest on Saturday.[LNB]But instead he witnessed another shoddy defensive display in which City's rearguard was often torn apart by the vibrant visitors.[LNB]"We have to work our way through this," Pearson added.[LNB]"It's not time to feel sorry for ourselves and we have to make sure we bounce back from this on Saturday."[LNB]The Foxes fell behind after 19 minutes when Sproule was allowed to waltz past four defenders before lifting an angled shot over Chris Weale from seven yards.[LNB]And the Leicester rearguard was at fault again after 28 minutes when Wayne Brown failed to clear to allow Skuse to leave Weale floundering with a wonderful strike into the top corner from 30 yards.[LNB]The visitors scored their third after 76 minutes when a blunder by Jack Hobbs was seized on by Skuse who sprinted 70 yards before he fed the unmarked Sno, who drilled in from 12 yards.[LNB]David Waghorn was shown a straight red card after a heavy tackle on Jamie McAllister before Fryatt netted in stoppage time.[LNB]Bristol City assistant manager Keith Millen was delighted to see the Robins end a sequence of five games without a win.[LNB]He said: "It wasn't easy, though we could relax after the third goal went in.[LNB]"We had a game plan - the longer the game went on we thought we would have the pace to cause them problems on the counter attack.[LNB]"We defended really well as a team and knew the first goal was going to be vital, and so it proved.[LNB]"We had felt under a bit of pressure because we hadn't won in our last five games.[LNB]"But we said to the players they had to be confident and strong on the ball and that is exactly what they were tonight.[LNB]"The first goal was massive for us. After that you could see us growing in confidence."[LNB][LNB]
