The Leicester City backroom staff continued its transition with the appointment of Susan Whelan as Chief Executive following Lee Hoos departure last week. Dublin-born Whelan is well aware of the huge task the club faces in the upcoming months - both on and off the Walkers Stadium pitch. She said: 'One of the biggest challenges we face will be making the club self-sufficient. 'We have the foundations set in place for success, but it is now important that everyone continues to work hard, both individually and collectively, to deliver success as we enter an exciting new era at Leicester City.' Whelan added. Vice-chairman Aiyawatt Raksriaksorn and the reformed backroom team will now set about preparing the club for their challenge of earning Premier League football next season. Raksriaksorn said: "We are very pleased to have such a wealth of experience and business talent at the forefront of the club's administration staff, supporting our world-class manager Sven-Goran Eriksson, as we attempt to return Leicester City to the Premier League.' Meanwhile, Andrew Neville has taken up the Director of Football role whilst continuing his responsibilities as Administrator and Head of Football Operations as the club's Thai owners continue their reshuffling process ahead of an immensely important pre season for the Foxes. Neville will take a hands on approach with regards to player transfers, assisting Eriksson in any future acquisitions. Simon Capper has also been appointed as Finance Director at the club.
