Mattock asks to leave Foxes
The full-back, who was part of the England squad that recently reached the final of the UEFA European Under-19 Championships, has been linked with a move to Championship rivals Nottingham Forest for most of the summer.
West Brom have also reportedly expressed an interest in signing Mattock.
City manager Nigel Pearson said: "It is a situation that has been driven by him.
"In terms of confirming where he goes and for how much, I can't do that, but I'd expect it to be resolved shortly."
Mattock also requested to leave the Walkers Stadium last summer but stayed and helped the Foxes to win the League One title.
