Mandaric: Foxes won't pay over odds

The Foxes were recently thwarted in their bid to sign Swindon striker Simon Cox as they prepare for their return to the Championship and Mandaric will not change his stance in refusing to pay "silly" money for players despite Leicester's recent promotion. "Sometimes, when you go in for a player, their club increases (the fee) because they look at Leicester as being one of the big clubs," he told the Leicester Mercury. "That is something which I like to believe is the case too, but you have to have certain criteria and be sure you are buying players as an investment. "If people then start throwing silly numbers around, you have to pull away." Meanwhile, Leicester's away clash against Newcastle United at St James's Park, scheduled to be played on Saturday August 29, will now be played on Monday August 31.
