Mandaric confident of title glory

The 2-0 loss at London Road on Saturday cut City's lead at the top of the League One table to just four points with six games remaining. Mandaric, who had shoulder surgery in America a few weeks ago, told the Leicester Mercury: "We have not come all this way to let it slip now. "The reason I went through all that pain and trouble with the operation was so that I could more easily lift our trophy as champions. And I am convinced we will, even with that defeat at Peterborough. "It is closer than it was but I know we are going to make it. The team is strong, the manager is doing a good job and I am proud of what the team has achieved so far, but we want to finish top and I am sure that (manager) Nigel (Pearson) and the players will do what has to be done." Leicester's chances of automatic promotion were boosted on Tuesday night when third-placed Millwall lost their game in hand 1-0 at home to Colchester, meaning that City still hold a nine-point advantage over the team leading the play-off contenders.
