Garry Monk promises to field a strong Swansea side at Hull
Swansea manager Garry Monk has promised his side will be strong at Hull despite an expected Capital One Cup shake-up.
Monk made 11 changes from his regular Premier League line-up when Swansea breezed past York 3-0 in the last round a month ago.
Swansea added depth to their squad over the summer and Monk will probably rotate heavily once again at the KC Stadium, even though Hull have climbed into the top three of the Sky Bet Championship and present a far sterner test than York.
"We'll have to assess the players so I can make a judgement on who should be playing up there," Monk said after the goalless league draw with Everton on Saturday.
"There will be a few bumps and bruises from the Everton game but we want to go up there strong and try and win that game.
"I'm sure there will be some changes but whether it's the amount I made for York I don't know.
"As I say, I have to assess the players and make a call on it then."
Swansea signed Sweden goalkeeper Kristoffer Nordfeldt, France Under-21 defender Franck Tabanou and Portugal striker Eder in the summer as Monk bolstered a squad which finished a club-best eighth in the Premier League last season.
So far the trio's only starts have come against York but Monk insisted his team selection at Hull would be based on who he feels is ready for the game, rather than simply being a case of giving fringe players game-time.
"Whatever team I select it is to win the game," Monk said.
"It doesn't matter who's been involved and who's had game-time or not, selection is all about who I feel can help us.
"When I look at the squad in training I will see who's fresh and who's ready to go for the game on Tuesday."
Jake Livermore could make his Hull comeback against the Swans.
Livermore has not played since May, following a positive in-competition test for cocaine, but was spared a ban by the Football Association this month and is available for action.
He has been back in training for almost two weeks and will be considered as manager Steve Bruce rings the changes for his side's fourth game in 10 days.
Chuba Akpom, David Meyler, Ryan Taylor, Ahmed Elmohamady, Isaac Hayden and Greg Luer are hoping to benefit with recalls to the first XI.
