James doubt for Foxes

Matty James is a major doubt for Leicester ahead of the visit of QPR.

James missed the 1-1 draw with Reading on Monday night because of a knee injury. Scans have shown the problem is not as bad as initially feared and he will continue to be assessed although, with promotion already sealed, Foxes boss Nigel Pearson will not take any risks with the midfielder.

Striker Jamie Vardy returned to the starting line-up at the Madejski Stadium following a three-game absence with a groin injury.

Defeat for second-placed Burnley at rivals Blackpool on Friday evening coupled with a victory for Leicester would see Pearson's men crowned champions.

Joey Barton returns to the QPR squad for the trip to the Midlands.

The midfielder, who has missed the last four games with a thigh problem, is one of a host of Rangers players available after injury.

Clint Hill, Aaron Hughes, Andy Johnson and Shaun Wright-Phillips should all be available along with Wolves striker Kevin Doyle, who has resumed his loan spell at Loftus Road after recovering from a knee injury.

But Jermaine Jenas is out with a hamstring problem while Ale Faurlin (knee) and Matty Phillips (ankle) are long-term absentees.
