Masilewski in Foxes frame

Nigel Pearson may hand a debut to new signing Marcin Masilewski providing he receives international clearance before Leicester host Derby in the third round of the Capital One Cup.

The Poland international defender joined up with Foxes after being released by Anderlecht and could be called upon as Leicester look to build on an encouraging start to the season.

Chris Wood, who scored a hat-trick in the previous round against Carlisle, will miss out with the hamstring injury that kept him out of the weekend draw with Blackpool while Sean St Ledger will not be considered despite returning to training following a knee injury.

Leicester will be hoping their impressive home record against the Rams continues which has seen the hosts remain unbeaten in over 11 years since Derby won 3-0 in what was then a Barclays Premier League encounter.

Nigel Clough may opt to shuffle his pack when Derby travel the short distance, with Michael Jacobs and Conor Sammon in the frame.

Northern Irish forward Jamie Ward has played five games in 16 days and continues to be monitored after hamstring problems hampered his season last year while Will Hughes played on Saturday despite being subbed the week before with a groin problem.

Midfielders Jeff Hendrick (ankle) and James Bailey (knee) continue their recovery from knocks while centre-halves Shaun Barker and Mark O'Brien both remain on the sidelines with knee problems.

The game at the King Power Stadium will offer Clough and his team the opportunity to avenge the home defeat inflicted by Nigel Pearson's men earlier in the league campaign when goalkeeper Lee Grant's error gifted the Foxes a 1-0 win.
