Konchesky in contention for Foxes

Paul Konchesky comes back into the reckoning for Leicester ahead of their home game against Birmingham after a transfer away from the King Power Stadium collapsed.

The left-back was omitted from the squad that travelled to Derby last weekend amid interest from Sky Bet Championship rivals Brighton.

"There was interest from another club, but it didn't materialise," said Leicester boss Nigel Pearson. "He is training with us and will be considered for the weekend and I am pleased to have him."

Wingers Anthony Knockaert and Ben Marshall and defenders Zoumana Bakayogo and Ignasi Miquel, on loan from Arsenal, all came through a development squad fixture this week without any problems and are in contention. Centre-half Sean St Ledger (knee) is still out.

Darren Ambrose and Jonathan Spector are both in contention for Birmingham.

Ambrose managed over an hour for the club's reserves in midweek having been sidelined with a groin injury, although fellow midfielder Spector, also back in full training after a fractured cheekbone, did not feature.

Nikola Zigic (back) remains in the treatment room along with long-term absentees Will Packwood and David Murphy while Mitch Hancock will also miss out after suffering a setback in his recovery from an ankle strain.

Akwasi Asante will not feature in Lee Clark's matchday 18 after the Blues boss confirmed the striker had picked up a minor hamstring strain while on loan at Shrewsbury.
