Leicester hoping to extend King contract

Leicester chief executive Lee Hoos hopes contract negotiations with midfielder Andy King will be concluded shortly.

The Wales international is City`s leading scorer with 14 goals and was handed the captaincy this season. Hoos extended the contracts of Richie Wellens, Paul Gallagher and Matt Oakley recently and hopes King will follow suit. However, he said there was no cause for concern as the 22-year-old is already on a long contract.

"I have one more (contract) on the go but I don't want to comment too much," Hoos told the Leicester Mercury.

"What I will say is that Andy signed a new contract last year to take him up to 2014 anyway. He is a good young player and we want to reward the people who have helped get us in this position.

"That is one we hope to get over the line with soon as well."
