Leicester defender Christian Fuchs has targeted a big scalp in the Champions League after the Foxes reached the knockout stages.

Claudio Ranieri's side qualified for the last 16 with a game to spare after winning Group G following their 2-1 victory over Club Brugge on Tuesday.

Porto's 0-0 draw in Copenhagen gave Leicester a five-point lead at the top and they go to Portugal for their final game next month certain of their place in the second round.

Fuchs set up Shinji Okazaki's opener before Riyad Mahrez's penalty clinched victory, despite Jose Izquierdo pulling a goal back, and the former Austria international said getting Real Madrid in next month's draw would compare to last season's shock title victory.

He said: "It will be the same like winning the Premier League. We are good at being the underdogs and giving our best. We are really happy playing with Leicester in the Champions League. It makes us proud, then in the knock-out stage anything is possible.

"I think we have a good squad, we have good quality and everything is possible. We showed this last season that we are able to do great things. Why not also in the Champions League?

"We believe in ourselves and want to win every game. If it works out it is another thing but we give everything for that.

"It feels pretty good, it has been a great campaign so far. We are very proud."

Marc Albrighton, who won the penalty for Mahrez's goal and also played a part in Okazaki's early strike, agreed with Fuchs and is eager to test himself against the best.

"Maybe the obvious, your Real Madrids and your Barcelonas would be special. But anyone for me would be great," said the winger.

"If you get one of the top teams over two legs it would be fantastic. To go to their stadium and for them to come here, the occasion would be immense.

"Some of us might not get the opportunity to play in this competition ever again and we want to make the most of it this year and play as many games as possible. We want to enjoy the occasions but we want to win the games and progress even further."

Leicester host Middlesbrough in the Premier League on Saturday and could be without midfielder Danny Drinkwater after he was charged with violent conduct by the Football Association following an alleged elbow on Valon Behrami in the weekend's 2-1 defeat at Watford.
