A trio of Leicester players have put their names in the frame for the PFA Fan’s Player of the Month award in the Championship.
Jamie Vardy, two goal hero against Millwall, and fellow scorer Lloyd Dyer are giving teammate David Nugent a run for his money in the popularity stakes.
Leicester are sitting pretty at the top of the Championship table following Burnley’s defeat at Huddersfield, for whom James Vaughan took his tally for the season to 12.
Ipswich striker David McGoldrick has been in a rich vein of form, but it was defender Tommy Smith who claimed the bragging rights in Town’s 1-0 win at Charlton.
Matt Ritchie was Bournemouth’s star performer, and goalscorer, in the 1-1 draw with Brighton, whilst Ricardo Fuller continued to prove his worth for Blackpool in their 2-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday.
Paul Caddis was on target twice for Birmingham, but the title of Championship hero of the weekend has to go to Paul Quinn who scored Doncaster’s winner in the surprise victory against QPR.
In League One, Ryan Lowe continues to set a breath-taking pace as his two goals for Tranmere against Colchester took his season’s tally to 12.
That puts him up there with the likes of previous fans’ player winner David Mooney (Orient) and Coventry pair Callum Wilson and Leon Clarke.
But keep an eye on Kieran Agard who helped Rotherham into the play-off places with his sixth goal in seven games in the 4-1 win against Gillingham.
In League Two, Adam McGurk was Burton’s match winner at Plymouth – his seventh goal of the season – whilst veteran striker Dave Kitson kept Oxford top with a late equaliser at Fleetwood.
Rhys Murphy was on target, for the tenth time this season, in Dagenham’s 2-0 win against Wycombe and is sure to figure in the fans’ player shake-up. But who will get your vote?
Follow the link to our poll and show your support by voting for the player you think deserves the accolade of PFA Fans' Player of the Month.
