King respects Eriksson's impact

Leicester City captain Andy King has hailed the impact made by manager Sven-Goran Eriksson after Saturday's 4-1 win over Barnsley moved them ever closer to an npower Championship play-off spot.

The Foxes made an awful start to the season under Paulo Sousa, but have steadily climbed the table since former England boss Eriksson took the reins in October and now lie just six points off a top-six place.

They are unbeaten in the league in 2011 with four wins from their last five games and King, who grabbed a brace against the Tykes, says a lot of that is down to Eriksson.

"Saturday was a good win for us and we are hitting form, and we need to in order to keep moving towards the play-offs," said King.

"We had a really bad start but the change of manager brought a freshness and it has seen us pick up a lot and give ourselves a chance.

"Because of who he is, Sven is instantly respected by the players and he has made some good signings which have helped as the players he has brought in can only help the squad."
