Hoos won`t pay over odds for players

Chief executive Lee Hoos insists Leicester will not be held to ransom in the transfer market. Following the sale of the club by Milan Mandaric to Asia Football Investments (AFI), Hoos believes there is the perception within the game the Foxes are now flush with money. Sven-Goran Eriksson revealed soon after his appointment as manager that the Raksriaksorn family, who head up the AFI consortium, had pledged to provide him with significant funds to help get the club back into the Premier League. However, Hoos is the man who conducts the negotiations on transfer deals and he insists Leicester will not pay exorbitant prices for players. "This is one of the big problems we have right now because the perception out there is Leicester are loaded and everyone wants ridiculous amounts of money," Hoos told the Leicester Mercury. "It is always about getting the right player in for the right price at the right time. It has to be whether the player can give us more than we have right now in terms of taking the club forward. It has to be something that is sensible and, if those two factors come together, then you are looking to bring the player in."
